   Amy has been teaching and creating in the fields of the arts and holistic healing since 1984. Her childhood was filled with music and dance which is how she came to study percussion and voice.

   She has studied West African style drumming with numerous Master Drummers from around the world including: Babatundi Olatunji, Sanga of the Valley, Atchade Asongba, Tyrone Davis and Frank Williams, Dom Moio and Eric Zang. She studied Voice and Music Theory with Master Teacher Art Weinstein and Vanessa Purdy.  Presently Amy studies voice with Dave Stroud.

   Amy is performing with "Brown Eyed Girl" a trio that plays Rock, Reggae, Folk, Pop and unusual picks from the 60's through the present with a unique Beatnik sound, the "Madrid Trio" which plays Sounds of the Southwest, Desert Moon a Jazz Trio or Quartet and "Phoenix Rising" an uplifting collective consciousness.

   Instruments in Amy's collection include: Djembe (small, medium and large), Djun-Djun, Ashiko, Congas and Bongos (with stands) assorted Shakers and Bells, Cymbals, Wood Blocks and Clave, Tambourine, Frame drums, Riqs, Dumbek, Zils and Bar chimes.

   Her voice can be just as smooth and subtle as it is driving. Her range is contralto. Her writing is about her views, humor and multi cultural issues and takes form in Song as well as Po' Jazz.

   Amy teaches ongoing private and group classes at many locations. She is often in residency at schools as well as conducting workshops for the Arizona Rhythm Connection. Currently she is in the studio tracking on various projects and writing material for future CDs.

   Amy is an exciting performer and thorough teacher. She gives her students a strong foundation of knowledge and tools as she strives to communicate her belief in peace, unity and healing through acceptance, love and sound.
